The Daughters of the Most High God Poem

The Daughters of the Most High God Poem

May is the month that we set aside a special day to celebrate mothers. Biological mothers, adoptive mothers, grandmothers, spiritual mothers, godmothers, and guardians are all given honorable mention on this day.  There are also women who have never parented children but, are just as wonderful as those who have.  One thing that all  Christian women have in common is that God is our Heavenly Father and we are His daughters.  He loves us unconditionally and celebrates us all.

“Daughters of the Most High God” is a special poem that was written as a loving expression from God’s heart to His daughters.

I pray that it will be a blessing to your spirit.  Enjoy!

Daughters of the Most High God

Carriers of life

Nurturers of the soul

Fashioned by My skillful hand

Crowned with My glory

Quickly connecting with your Heavenly Father

Receiving My divine impartations with love

Submitting to My wisdom

And unselfishly distributing it to those in need

Daughters of the Most High God

Filled with My compassion

Inspired by love to please Me

Engulfed in the truth of My spirit

Knowledgeable and experiencing My kingdom

Flowing in My anointing

Sending up prayers that usher in change

Providing that listening ear and responding with hope

Speaking life to things that need to be resurrected

These are My daughters

Heirs of salvation

Mothers of nations

Supporters of the lost to lead them to the cross

Willing to travail and willing to labor

Filled with My faith and filled with My favor

Daughters of the Most High God!

You Can’t Turn The Sun Off

You Can’t Turn The Sun Off

I’m often amazed at how brightly the sun shines in Florida. More than once, I’ve gone into the laundry room to wash a load of clothes and attempted to turn the light off on my way out only to realize that the light had never been turned on.  It was the brightness of the sun shining through the window that made such an amazing impact.  When this happened the other day I chuckled and said to myself, “you can’t turn the sun off.” I suddenly thought, “hmm, there’s a message in that statement.”

When I received the revelation that the Lord was showing me in this illustration He was simply saying, “you can’t turn the Son off!” Jesus Christ is the son of God and He is forever faithful and true.  His character never changes.  We can always depend on Him.  We never have to wonder if He will be our Savior one day and change His mind the next day.  It’s an ongoing fact that He will never change.  It is absolutely impossible for Him to stop being who He is.  In other words, He won’t switch up on us.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8).

Let’s be intentional about patterning our lives after Jesus’ example. Let’s purpose in our hearts to consistently let our lights shine brightly for Him in all that we do.  May our characters always line up with the word of God.  And when we get off track, may we quickly recognize that our light has grown dim and run to our Heavenly Father for Him to restore us and reignite our light.

REFLECTIONS

1.  Is the light of Christ shining in you so much that people never question if you are a Christian?

2.  If you had to choose one thing about Jesus’ example that you are most fond of what would it be?

3.  Name some qualities that you have that shine on a consistent basis. Be sure to give God praise for each one.

It’s Time For A Spiritual House Cleaning

It’s Time For A Spiritual House Cleaning

Spring time is quickly approaching and every sign of winter will soon be gone.  All of the snow will have melted and the frigid temperatures will have ceased. No more weather reports of Alberta Clippers or Lake Effect Snow. We will begin to see beautiful greenery where dry and barren trees used to dwell.

This is also the time of the year that many people do their spring cleaning which simply means seriously going through each room in the house and thoroughly cleaning it. It also entails getting rid of things that haven’t been used in a long time and have done nothing more than collected dust.

Now let’s look at this deep cleaning from a spiritual point of view. Let’s make a commitment to do a thorough inward examination of our own souls.  The soul consists of our minds, wills, and emotions.  We have to truthfully answer some serious questions such as, are our thoughts and motives pure.  Have we submitted our wills to the will of the Lord or do we live our lives without even considering Him?  Do we have control of our emotions or do we let our emotions control us?  How is our love walk?  Are we expressing love in a way that God would be pleased?  How is our tone when we talk to people?  There are so many other things that can be added to this list but, the point is that the Lord wants us to live with hearts that seek to please Him.

The Lord is able and willing to cleanse us and forgive us from all unrighteousness but, first we have to honestly admit that the dirt is there (see 1Jn 1:9). Only God can wash away all of the impurities in our lives.  Regardless of how grimy things may have gotten God’s love  remains unchanged and He will unwaveringly love us back to wholeness.

Reflections

When was the last time that you did a thorough spiritual examination?

Does your way of doing things line up with God’s way of doing things?

What steps will you take to remove those things that are contrary to God’s way of doing things?
