As I was thinking about the year 2014 it seems as though it is flying by quickly. January 1st was just a few short months ago and many people were setting new goals and making new year’s resolutions. Some people have honored those goals, and resolutions. Some tried to stick with their plans but, have found themselves back at the starting point having made little progress.
KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
This message is to encourage you to keep moving forward regardless of what category you fall into. If you have been diligent about accomplishing your goals, congratulations!!! Continue to keep your eye on the finish line and you will reach your destination.
If you happen to have gotten off track please don’t beat yourself up about it. It’s never too late to start over, and you still can reach that desired place with a new mindset which includes the right thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
“The word of God says that we can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Phil 4:13
Start where you are. Start with an “I Can, I Will, I Am” attitude. Resolve within yourself that you can do what you set out to do because Jesus promised to give you strength. With His strength you cannot help but be successful.
Make some “I will” declarations over your life such as, I will move forward. I will work on my goals every day. I will make it to the finish line!
Be intentional about daily adding actions that line up with what you have been declaring. Continue to trust in the fact that God wants you to move forward and that He is walking with you. Before you know it, you will begin to notice the positive changes in your life. At this point, you will be able to confidently say,
“I am” walking in the right direction which is towards the goals that you’ve been trying to complete. Sweet success is what you will experience and God will get the glory because He showed you how to get there, and you followed His lead. There is great reward for partnering with God.
Joyful, confident, peace resides in those who flow with God.

If we determine that we will flow with God by following His lead it’s inevitable that those godly dreams, desires, and goals will become a reality.
As we established in the last blog titled, “Reach for More” we all have desires, dreams, and goals inside of us. In fact, God has a preordained destiny for each of us. We will reach that place if we maintain our focus on Him.
What Does It Mean To Flow With God
When you feel Him placing something in your spirit, heart, or mind just follow what the Lord is telling you to do. Remember, He only wants what’s best for you nothing less.
If you feel a strong impression to do something that lines up with the word of God then go ahead and do it. God is with you. If for some reason you make a mistake and get off track or make a wrong turn, resolve within in your spirit that God loves you and He will walk with you to make sure that you reach that higher place in Him.
Just think, God has some awesome things inside of you that will bless and possibly deliver other people from hard situations. Perhaps you have always wanted to tutor children in a specific academic area. It’s always been in your heart to help youth who were struggling in school. You have always had a good rapport with children and you have always done extremely well in school.
Suddenly one day you feel a strong urge to go to the school in your neighborhood, talk to the principal, and find out what you have to do to offer your help. God gives you favor with the principal. In fact, the school is in desperate need of tutors, they gladly accept your assistance and now you’re helping to shape the lives of the youth that you’re tutoring.
They may go on to be great scholars, leaders, and contributors in society because of the difference that you made in their lives all because you decided to acknowledge and obey the spiritual nudges that God gave you. Those nudges led you from a place of good thoughts, to good actions, to good success.
Flowing with God by following His lead always pays off.

God has a predestined place designed for you. There are others who can try to do what He wants you to do. However, they would not be able to do it exactly the way you would because He has made each of us a unique one of a kind original.
If you feel a strong desire in your spirit to do something that you have only dreamed of but, never pursued it, why not go ahead and reach for it. In other words develop a plan that will at least quench your thirsty curiosity. You many just discover that as you honor that dream, desire, or longing that you have been feeling inside was actually placed there by God.
Steps To Reach For More
Express Gratitude– As you put your plan together in discovering more for your life and situation sure to thank God for where you are now, and thank Him for the places that you will experience along the way on your journey of discovery.
Goal Setting – Set aside some time to write down what you want to do. Set a time frame that includes when you want to begin putting your plan into action. Also document when you want to reach your goals realizing that it’s not the end of the world if you don’t meet that deadline, just don’t give up, keep reaching for completion.
Do Your Research – Find out what it takes to get your goals accomplished. The internet is a universal library that’s filled with so much information. It’s a great place to start on your research venture. Also, ask successful, positive people who will support your vision about how they reached their goals.
Vision Board – Make a vision board by cutting and pasting pictures to poster board that remind you of what you want to accomplish in your life. Place it somewhere that you frequent often and thank the Lord for it coming to pass in His timing.
Remember – If any fear tries to come as you’re moving forward never forget that the Lord is with you, He wants you to succeed, and His powerful hand trumps fear every time.

- Psalm 37:4 KJV says, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” What desires do you have that you have not pursued?
- Have you ever thought about the fact that perhaps the Lord placed those desires in your heart in the first place?
- What will you do to honor that godly urge that you feel inside to move forward and discover more beautiful and powerful things that the Lord has in store for you?
