When I first heard someone say “God lives in you”, I believed it but didn’t take it any further than that. It wasn’t until I heard God’s voice tell me after I was asking Him for something through prayer…”You have the authority right now to make this happen.” And that’s when it hit me that many times we lean so heavily on God and wait for our prayers to be answered, but during our wait, we forget about the power He has already given us. When we become ill or maybe someone we know is sick, do we pray for their healing? Absolutely! However, we must understand that once we are saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, God has given us the authority to lay hands on our own bodies or those who are sick and claim their healing in Jesus name. And we should believe it will be done. Why? Because we as children of God have been granted this authority and it clearly states in Matthew 18:18 – “Truly I say to you,  whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

I walked around many years doing all I knew to do which was to simply give it to God, but didn’t fully understand that He gave me the authority to speak and walk as if it’s already done. Because it truly is done. I had to realize that God wants His best for us while we are here on Earth. We can only live our best life when He is in control and we walk in and use the authority He has given us to overcome the great and challenging obstacles in life. My level of faith and knowing who I am has increased over time since I came to fully understand my authority. And we must share our revelations and experiences with others so that we can all know we are more than conquerors. What a gift that God has given us and we have to tap into it, use it and be a blessing to many.

Understanding my authority has helped me become more confident in who I am in Christ and has allowed me to trust God more and more in everything that I do both personally and professionally when things are going good and when tough times surface. We serve a great God and the more time we spend with Him, He will guide our thoughts to get us to a place of preparation for any and every circumstance in our life.

Let’s walk in our authority!

Reflections

1. What are some things in your life that you need to take authority over?
2. Can you think of a time that you used your authority in Christ and saw a turnaround? How did this make you feel?

Don’t Let The Devil Fool You

Don’t Let The Devil Fool You

Isn’t it amazing to know that in a world that’s changing every day that God’s love for us remains the same?  His arms are always stretched out wide welcoming us to fellowship with Him, with that understanding don’t let the devil fool you.

Just as God’s love never changes neither does the devil’s hatred for God or His children ever change.  And because of that reason, we must be aware of his devices as the Bible refers to in 2cor. 2:11.

The enemy loves to make people feel like God doesn’t love them, He won’t answer their prayers, and that they are alone.  However, none of these things line up with the word of God.  If you’re ever tempted to believe such things quickly recognize that those thoughts are not from your loving Heavenly Father. Command those thoughts to leave in the name of Jesus and replace them with the omnipotent word of God.

Here are three powerful scriptures to stand on:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) KJV

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. (Isaiah 65:24)

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness..  (Isaiah 41:10)

Reflections

  • The enemy is very deceptive.  How will you guard your heart against receiving his lies?
  • Name three things about God that you know to be true? In other words, nothing could ever make you change your mind about those things.

It is our goal to bring you anointed words and services that inspire, encourage, and foster a closer relationship with the Lord. We thank God for you and want you to know that you’re always welcome at The Angelic Pen, “Where the words of heaven flow from God’s Heart to your spirit.”  Kimberly Smith

7 Ways To Embrace Your Freedom

7 Ways To Embrace Your Freedom

The Bible is the most powerful book on earth. It is full of life-changing words that help us on our Christian journey. Therefore, I would like to discuss 7 Ways To Embrace Your Freedom.

One of the most prevalent scriptures in the Bible is found in John 8:36 which declares,  “If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” It is of utmost importance that we guard the freedom that Jesus Christ has given us.  Listed below are some ways to do that.

  1. Have a heart of gratitude, remembering that God has set you free from a difficult place in your life.

  1. Embrace the fact that old things have passed away and God is doing a new thing in you.

  1. Consider it an honor that God promoted you to a new place in Him.

  1. Resist the temptation to go back to the old familiar place. Submit those things to the Lord in prayer. God has bigger things in store for you!

  1. Realize that the Lord loves blessing His children and seeing them flourish.

  1. Make a commitment to follow the Lord knowing that He will always lead you in the right direction.

  1. Remember, God is always right there with you. You are never alone.

Reflections

  • Do you sense the Lord wants to take you higher in Him?
  • If so, will you make a commitment to follow His lead even if it causes you to leave your comfort zone?
  • Think about a time when you felt trapped in a situation and God set you free. What has been your greatest pleasure in experiencing this freedom?

It is our goal to bring you anointed words and services that inspire, encourage, and foster a closer relationship with the Lord.
