Behold I will do a new thing shall you not know it. I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19).  This is one of my favorite scriptures.  It is full of hope and the promise of Almighty God to step in on our behalf and change things. The gospel singer Yolanda Adams sings a song titled, “Through The Storm.”  A phrase from the lyrics says, “He can speak to the winds and the waves and make them behave.”  Our God is the God of Miracles.  He can calm seas, make rivers appear in dry places and create perfect escapes from the wilderness. Have you ever been in a place where there seemed to be no way out? Have you ever gotten lost while trying to get from one destination to another?  Depending on the circumstances it can be a frightening experience. The scripture above assures us that God will come to rescue us from the dry places in our lives. This includes those places where we don’t have answers and a miracle is the only thing that can turn things around.  Our God specialized in miracles  He is the omnipotent Creator and knows how and when to get exactly what we need to us. Trust Him for the new thing that He promises and if your faith is being challenged right now ask God to help you with that also. He is so merciful.  He hears your faintest cry.  Be sure to acknowledge the changes that He brings in your life even if they seem small at first.  Your way will become clearer.  The Lord says that you will know the change when it occurs.  Give Him praise in advance as well as when those wonderful new things appear.

 Reflections

  1. What new things are you looking forward to in your life?
  2. Are you experiencing and dry places in your life right now? If so, ask the Lord to manifest this scripture in those areas.
  3. Have you noticed any positive changes big or small that have recently occurred in your life?  If so, make a list of those things and reflect on each one with a heart of gratitude.
God Bless!
