Have you ever experienced something extremely devastating in your life? Or perhaps you suddenly received some difficult news that momentarily seemed to knock the wind out of you. Have you ever wondered if God provides rest for the weary? If you can relate to these situations then you know the importance of leaning on the strong arms of the Lord. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This scripture is a reality that points us to the place where we can lay our heads and breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Taking our problems to the Lord in prayer is the place that we can go to receive real answers to life’s problems and receive supernatural peace. I encourage you to let the Lord be your first place of comfort. Run to Him in your hours of sadness, weariness, confusion, or whatever the burden may be. Your shoulders are much too small to carry the weight of heavy burdens. Make a resolve to go to Jesus first. He has exactly what you need.

If you’re reading this blog you’re probably wondering what “talk” am I referring to. I’m referring to those deep seeded things that have been in your life that you haven’t really addressed wholeheartedly with God. You know that the issue(s) are there but, choosing to really deal with them is too painful or difficult so ignoring them seems to be the better option. This is why the question was presented, “Did you have that talk yet?”
Please don’t think for one minute that the Holy Spirit did not initially present this same question to me before I shared it with you. The Lord wants all of His children to be whole in every area of life.
It doesn’t matter what we have done or what we have been through God does not have a problem helping us get through it. He will take those hidden places of the heart that no one knows about and turn them into amazing testimonies that bring glory to His name as well as peace and freedom to us.
I encourage you today to make a commitment to take those things to God that you have been holding onto that are not pleasing to Him, ask Him to fix it, and trust that He will. It doesn’t matter how bad, dishonest, or shameful it is. The Lord already knows every detail about us but, He does not want us to attempt to hide anything from Him. He does not want us to invite Him into certain areas of our lives and completely lock Him out of others.
The Lord wants every single part of us. One of the things that amazes me about God’s love is that He never stops loving us regardless of our baggage. Always remember that we have a loving and forgiving Father who has the solution to every heartache and painful situation.

1. After reading the following scripture think about how you can apply it to having the “talk” with God:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1Jn 1:9
2. What emotions come up when you think of talking to the Lord about anything that you know you haven’t dealt with?
3. Are you willing to do what it takes to uncover the hidden things and really have a heart to heart talk with the Lord? Are you willing to let Him heal you?

Real love originated with the Almighty God. The Holy Bible declares that God is love. He is the highest expression of love. There is absolutely no darkness in Him. His love is perfect and unconditional. When I think about these things I can’t help but feel humbled and blessed beyond measure to know that I was formed by the hands and heart of ultimate love. The greatest thing about love is that our Heavenly Father wrapped us in that glorious love of His before He even sent us to earth. His love will never leave us. We are connected to the One who is love.
We cannot get away from God’s love even if we tried. I can’t think of one good reason why anyone would want to be separated from God’s great love but, even if someone would come up with various reasons it would not stop God from loving that person.
You see He is not like mortal man. We don’t always do things right, our attitudes may not always show the character of Christ, and if the truth be told sometimes we favor one person over another. However, God’s ways are far from ours. He is love and He is full of compassion, mercy, and loving-kindness. He is also the God of justice and although He brings correction, and judgment when and where it‘s needed it does not negate the fact that He is love.
One of my favorite songs is titled Stubborn Love by Kathy Traccoli. She sings about God’s relentless love regardless of her level of faith or how many times she’s messed up, God’s stubborn love won’t let go of her. It’s so good to know that God loves us completely. Oh what a Mighty God we serve.
