When I think of inner peace I think of a place in my spirit which cannot be tampered with, shaken, or destroyed. No matter how hard things may get, in this special place of peace nothing can change my knowledge of the fact that God loves and cares about me. The best thing about inner peace is the fact that our Heavenly Father is the creator of peace and because we are His children we get to experience that part of Him. He is so open to us spending time with Him. Even though He knows everything about us He wants us to share everything with Him because He’s just that in to us. And because He loves us so much He has absolutely no problem wrapping us up in His peace.
According to Wikipedia, peace is defined as an occurrence of harmony characterized by lack of violence, conflict behaviors, and the freedom from fear of violence. Inner peace is described as a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being at peace is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious.
In the world that we live in our peace is challenged all of the time. Just look at the news for a few minutes and you’ll hear all of the horrible things happening around the world. Sometimes you don’t even have to go that far but, you can just look in your own life and see things in disarray.
However, the Lord promises us that He will give us peace that passes all understanding (Phil 4:7). Now that sounds like “inner peace” to me! God is gracious enough to allow us to enter into a place where we can find so much rest and serenity that we can’t even understand it. In fact, our human words cannot adequately describe it. Oh God how we thank You for your peace!!
Special Prayer
Dear Lord,
I pray that you would cause everyone that is reading this blog to know the place of inner peace like never before. I pray that when troubles rise no matter how big or small that You would quickly intervene and draw us into the place of peace. We thank You God for in that place we will find love, rest, confidence, and intimacy with You.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray,
Amen
Reflections

Isn’t it absolutely wonderful to know that nothing can separate us from the love of God? His love for us is so enormously solid until nothing can destroy it. When you get a moment be sure to read Romans 8:38-39.
Sometimes we get off track, our faith waivers; our attitudes may not be exactly Christ like 100% of the time but, our Lord does not turn His back on us. He loves us in whatever state we find ourselves. In the New International Version of the Bible, Isaiah 49:16 says:
“See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me”
Imagine that, it is impossible for God to forget us. Just take a moment and look at your own hands, if something was permanently inscribed on them you would always know that it was there. In this scripture, the Lord is trying to get us to understand just how close we are to Him. He is totally committed to loving us!
The gospel artist Tasha Cobbs sings one of my favorite songs titled, “Smile.” The reason why I love this song so much is because it talks about how she wants her heart, life, and worship to be pleasing to God. We should all have the desire to want to please Him. He has done so much for us until it should be our ultimate goal to please Him. These things come about when our lives are committed to Him. Sure we’ll mess up sometimes but, our dedication to God makes us stay with Him knowing that He will make the crooked places straight. He’s big enough to fix us, forgive our sins, and give us a totally clean slate. What an awesome God we serve!
One of the many things that I love about the Lord is that He is completely righteous. He doesn’t stop loving us simply because we go astray. He’s just not that kind of God! His love is a sure thing. You can rest and depend on His love.
If you have never made a serious commitment to God before, today is a wonderful day to start. It’s very simple. It just takes a little faith. Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior will be the very best decision that you will ever make just follow the steps below:
It’s as Simple as ABC
A- Accept the fact that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). In other words we all need a Savior and His name is Jesus Christ. None of us are perfect and we can’t clean our own selves up. We have to rely on God to do that.
B- Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, and rose again so that you can choose to receive eternal life (John 3:16). God’s love for us is so great that even if you were the only person on earth at the time of the crucifixion Jesus would have still died for you.
C- Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart and be Lord and Savior of your life. Tell others about the wonderful thing that just occurred in your life!
Ask the Lord to lead you to a body of believers who preach/teach the word of God and demonstrate God’s Love.
Do You Need To Recommit?
If you know that you’re not as committed to God as you once were there’s no better time than the present to rededicate yourself to the Lord. God loves you so much! He’s not angry with you. He just wants to spend more time with you and let you experience life according to His awesome purpose. Just pray this simple prayer:
Dear Lord,
Please forgive me for not being as committed to you as I used to be. I repent for not giving you all of me. Help me to live a life that makes You smile.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
One of the best ways of showing your commitment to God is by making Him the #1 priority in your life.
Reflections
- Can you think of some areas in your life where your dedication to the Lord needs to be better?
- If you answered yes to the first question what actions will you make to get this accomplished?
- Tell the Lord how much you appreciate His unfailing love and commitment towards you.
