Your Gifts Are Priceless

Your Gifts Are Priceless

There are different spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, and yet the same Lord is served. There are different types of work to do, but the same God produces every gift in every person.    1 Cor 4:4-6  God’s Word Translation

Did you know your gifts are priceless?  The Lord has blessed each of us with special gifts.  While some people have multiple gifts, the amount of gifts that a person possesses has nothing to do with God’s love for us.  He loves us all with the same intensity whether we’ve been graced to have many gifts or one or two.

The essential thing to remember is that God chose you to not only carry specific gifts that He created but, also to share those gifts with others.  It was important enough for Him to create the gifts in the first place and then He went even further and chose to give them to His children.  What an honor!

The Lord entrusted something that He holds in high esteem and decided to place it within His children.  We are so blessed!!   Just think about a hypothetical situation for a moment.  A person on your job looks so sad and troubled; instead of your coworkers trying to find out what’s wrong they gossip amongst each other and talk about how sad the person looks.  However, the Lord has blessed you with a Gift of Exhortation (Rom.12:4-8) and encouraging others is natural for you, in fact you absolutely love doing it.   Because of this fact, you simply walk over to the person and give them some wonderful words of life which causes hope to come alive in their heart once again.  This is a brief example of how powerful your God given  gift can be by sharing it with someone who needs your area of expertise. Always remember that you and your gifts are vitally important in the body of Christ.

One final thought that I have is to never compare your gift to someone else’s be thankful for the one’s that the Lord has given you.  The gift that the Lord gave you is just as important as the one He gave to someone else.  Wanting what someone else has and not recognizing the value of what you have is dishonoring God and we never want to do that.  Trust that He always knows what He’s doing including giving you the specific gifts that He wanted you to have.  Thank Him for each one, and use them often.   Remember someone needs what you have.

Reflections

1.  How can you honor God with your gifts?

2.  When is the last time you used your gifts?

3.  Describe how you felt when you used your gift(s)

For further information about spiritual gifts read 1 Corinthians 12.  Also, I would like to suggest a very good book by Lester Sumrall titled,

What Is The Perfect Gift?

What Is The Perfect Gift?

You may be wondering exactly what the perfect gift is.  An even better question is who is the perfect gift and the answer of course, would be Jesus Christ!  Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that the entire world would have an opportunity to receive eternal life (see John 3:16).

Jesus holds the ultimate significance in the lives of believers.  If it had not been for His selfless sacrifice we would still be lost today.

Our Heavenly Father made each of us specifically the way He wanted to with our own distinct features, personalities, talents, and gifts.  We are priceless treasures to Him.  Just as He gave Jesus as a gift to the world we can also look at ourselves as gifts that the Lord has allowed to be on this earth. Talk about being highly favored!

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Psalm 139:14 NIV

Anytime, you’re in someone’s presence whether they realize it or not they are in the company of one of God’s treasured gifts. When you look in the mirror remind yourself that you are a gift designed by God!  During your time of prayer tell the Lord that you are grateful for being fearfully made by His own perfect hand.  Also, thank Him for the wonderful things that He has placed inside you, making you the unique individual that you are.  Realize that all of the good things that God has placed within you are perfect gifts that can help someone who may need to be encouraged, motivated, or strengthened.  You do play an important role in the lives of others.

Reflections

1.  Have you ever thought of yourself as being a treasured gift fashioned by the hand of God?

2.  What do you think are some of your best qualities that can be a blessing to someone else?

3.  Commit to sharing some of your gifts, talents, and qualities with someone who really needs it this month.  They will be blessed and so will you for pouring goodness into someone else’s life.

5 Ways to Find Peace In God's Promises

This Is The Day The Lord Has Made

This Is The Day The Lord Has Made

This is the day the LORD has made;

let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24 NIV

The Lord placed this scripture in my spirit today and I wanted to share it with you!  I am so thankful that the word of God is filled with so many promises and things that serve as reminders that we are not in this Christian walk alone.

We have a lot of things to be grateful for; not only were we blessed to see another day but, our heavenly Father is the one who actually made the day in the first place.  I think that makes us pretty special, to be connected to the Creator of the entire universe.  We are not only connected but, we are privileged that we know this great Creator on a personal level.

We all face trials from time to time but, we have an assurance that God is always here for us in joyous times as well as in sad times.

One thing that will consistently remain the same is that God is real and He establishes the existence of each and every day.

Let’s make every effort to let our Father know how we appreciate Him for allowing us to see this day!
