There are so many times that we cannot figure out how to bring peace to the brokenness in our past or even to present pain that we may be facing but, God knows how to give beauty in exchange for ashes (Isaiah 61:3). He knows exactly what to do to bring healing to places in our lives where there is existing hurt. He knows just what it takes and exactly how to orchestrate the turnaround that brings joy in the place of pain.
Many of us have secret places inside our hearts where we hide our pain. Sometimes there are just no words for the severity of the emotional blows that we often face. On the other hand, we frequently have the words to express our feelings but, no one who is trustworthy enough to be called a confidant and so we bury that pain where we think no one can find it.
May I suggest to you that the Lord wants to redirect any misusage of what the secret place is actually reserved for. He wants to fill that place of pain with His unconditional love, counsel, comfort, and peace. Commit to giving Him all of the sorrows that your heart holds whether others are aware of it or not. Tell Him everything, leave nothing out. He honors honesty.
The King James Bible says that a broken and contrite spirit He will not turn away (Psalm 51:17). The Common English Bible (CEB) says it this way, “A broken spirit is my sacrifice, God. You won’t despise a heart, God, that is broken and crushed.” Surrender to the Lord the things that you cannot fix. He has the best answer that is tailored just for you. He wants you to be free in every area of your life. Invite Him into that place of pain and trust Him to turn it into a place of peace.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalms 91:1 KJV
Reflections
1. Concealed places of hurt are places that you have tucked away inside your heart and have not allowed the Lord to minister completely to you in those areas. Are there any painful areas in your life that you have not dealt with?
2. If your answer was yes to the previous question will you invite the Lord to come into those hidden places and heal you of every hurt?
3. Make a decision to trust God to help you through your hidden places of pain.
4. Thank Him in advance for Your breakthrough of emotional healing, and for giving you beauty in exchange for ashes.

“Bringing in the Sheaves, we shall come rejoicing…”
Many of you may remember the old spiritual song titled “Bringing in the Sheaves.” The chorus was simply, “bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves, we shall come rejoicing bringing in the sheaves.”
When I was a young child and would hear people sing this song they seemed to have such joy in doing so but, I would always wonder what in the world sheaves were and why were they so happy about bringing them in.
Later, I found out that sheaves related to harvest. Sheaves are any bundle, cluster, or collection. Now it made perfectly good sense why those people were singing that song so heartily! It wasn’t until after they had sown good seeds into fertile ground, waited for the results of their labor to actualized, that they could collect the fruit of their labor.
This famous song comes from Psalm 126 which affirms the fact that our God is the God of multiplication and of restoration. In other words, He knows how to make things blossom where there seemed to be nothing happening. He also knows how to make things brand new and better than we ever dreamed possible.
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Psalm 126:5 KJV
There are all kinds of seeds that can be sown such as, love, kindness, monetary, time, service, and yes even tears. It is so powerful how the Lord looks at our tears as seeds. The New International Version of the Bible says, “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” Wow, what a trade off!
In other words where you have given God your tears, faith, hope, patience, long suffering, expectation, anticipation, etc. the Lord promises that it is not in vain. You may have labored in prayer over circumstances in your own personal life. You may have cried many tears regarding a loved one’s release from bondage, and pain. Be assured that the Lord has heard every one of your prayers and caught every tear. Restoration will come. Those things that you have prayed for will come to pass in the manner that God deems best for you. He always wants what’s best for His children and He knows just how to deliver the answers that will cause you to reap much joy.
You too will begin to sing songs of joy, and gratefulness because your Heavenly Father has proved Himself once again! The Holy Spirit will begin to remind you of different songs, the words will be so victorious until you will find yourself vocalizing those words through singing. At this point, it matters not whether you can sing like the angels or like the most popular vocalist of all time. Take some time to celebrate the miracle working power of God and His blessing of abundance. Just make a genuine, grateful, joyful sound unto the Lord!
Reflections
1. Did you know that God knows how to interpret your tears? He understands what each tear represents whether the tears are rolling down your face, or bottled up inside of you.
2. Sometimes the Lord provides the evidence of answered prayer immediately but, many times there is a waiting period just as there is a waiting period between sowing seeds and reaping a harvest. How do you make it through the waiting period?
3. Once that waiting period is over and your answered prayers are now a part of your every day life, what joyful songs would relay your gratitude?
4. The Lord loves you and He loves hearing what’s in your heart. If you were to create a song to the Lord what would it say? Go ahead and put your own melody to it and sing to your Heavenly Father.

For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17 (New Living Translation)
Did You Know That God Is Singing …Over You?
Did you know that you are such a joy to the Lord’s heart that you cause Him to sing? Not only does He sing but, the word of God declares that He will actually sing over you.
Just imagine lying down and falling asleep after a long tiring day and your Heavenly Father looking down from heaven and smiling upon you because He loves you unconditionally and no one could ever take your place.
His love and acceptance of you is so strong that it brings enough joy to His heart that causes a song to flow over you like a gentle but, steady breeze. When you awake you feel refreshed and revitalized as if that were the best sleep you’ve ever had in a long time, or you may feel an extra dose of God’s love.
Before you jump up and go about your day, take some time to commune with the Lord and listen and you might just hear a spiritual song playing in your spirit. That’s a special message from the Lord to you. In other words, He may just let you listen to what He is singing over you. It will always line up with His written word and will always be filled with His love.
To know that the Lord is singing over you should bring joy and peace to your heart as well. Even if there have been disturbances in your lives we can rest in the fact that the Lord will bring peace enveloped in His love.
- He is Mighty in your midst
- He will deliver you
- He will rejoice over you with joy. He is exuberant about you. You bring joy to His heart.
- He will cause you to rest in His love. He will joy over you with singing.
Know that God Sings Over You!
