It’s All About Love

It’s All About Love

The lyrics to an old familiar song written by Peter Scholtes rang loudly in my spirit one day. “And they’ll know we are Christians by our love by our love, and they will know we are Christians by our love.” These simple yet powerful words remind believers that we should be known for the love that we show.  Christianity was built on love. If it hadn’t been for our Heavenly Father’s matchless love sending His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins none of us would have a right to eternal life.  In fact, we can truly say that “It’s all about love.”

We must be a reflection of God’s love everywhere that we go. This even includes how we treat our own spouses, children, and other people who are close to us.  Often people will put on their “good Christian face” in public and act terribly at home.  God is not pleased with that type of behavior.  Our actions and the words that we say should be immersed in the love of God otherwise, we become as “sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal” as the scripture says in 1Cor 13:1.

Let’s always honor the greatest love that will ever exist, the love of our Heavenly Father. Because He is love (1 John 4:8). He has love for everyone in the entire world.  Let’s embrace His love daily and spread it everywhere that we go.

Reflections

  • Have you checked your love walk lately?

  • What kind of deed will you do for someone today?

  • How can you show God’s love to those who aren’t aware of who He is and how much He loves them?

It is our goal to bring you anointed words and services that inspire, encourage, and foster a closer relationship with the Lord. Happy New Year

Happy New Year

To God be the glory for blessing us to see a brand new year.  I pray that 2018 will be one of the greatest years that you have ever experienced.  May it be filled with joy, love, excitement, peace, prosperity, and most of all spending more intimate time with the Lord.

Should you decide to focus on making changes this year, determine what those changes will be and take time each day towards completing those things.  Near the end of the year, we often hear the familiar phrase “finish strong!”  Why wait until the end of the year?  Make an attempt to set daily goals that are within reach that causes you to “finish strong” for that day.  If this is consistently done, you will begin to see tangible evidence of accomplished goals before you get to the end of the year.

You may want to create a list of things you want to accomplish.  It’s always a great feeling to finish something and be able to check it off as completed.  Perhaps listing the easiest thing first will work best for you, that way you will be able to quickly move on to the next thing.

On the other hand, you may want to list the most challenging things first or the things that you’ve been putting off so that you can go ahead and get it out of the way.  At any rate, determine what works best for you and work at it consistently.  Keep your list in a place where you can look at it daily so that it will be fresh in your mind.

Most of all, remember that the Lord is with you and wants you to succeed in achieving your goals.  He will help you.  Be sure to keep Proverbs 16:3 in your heart as you are working on completing the things on your list, Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.”

Reflections

  • What do you want to achieve today, this month, and this year?

  • Working on your goals at least 10-20 minutes per/day is better than not working on them at all. Will you make a commitment to work on your goals daily

  • What is your personal action plan for working on your goals?

A Word of Encouragement for the Weary

A Word of Encouragement for the Weary

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.  – Psalm 102:1-2

I love what Psalm 102 says.  It is packed with a true heartfelt emotion of what the writer is experiencing at the time.  He is calling on God with all sincerity and pleading with Him to move on His behalf.

Perhaps you can relate to this passage.  Maybe you’ve grown weary due to difficult circumstances.  It may seem as if things will never change, yet you continue to hold on to God no matter what.  For inwardly you know that there is no righteous answer without Him.

In this same Psalm, after the writer pours his heart out to God, he remembers how awesome God is and a shift occurs in his thinking.  He becomes aware that all is not lost.  His hope rises and he realizes that God does hear him, will have compassion on him, and favor him.

I have come to encourage you this day that God hears and sees you.  He understands exactly what you’re going through right at this very moment. Your words are not going before ears that cannot hear.  Your heartache is not going before a god who is without compassion, but our God is full of mercy and compassion. His love for you is ever present.

God’s word says He will never leave you nor forsake you. Hold on to that truth.   Do not allow the enemy to tell you anything different.  Acknowledge the Lord’s love for you, embrace it, and realize that He will rescue you from a place of weariness.  He will never abandon you and He will cause His light to shine upon your situation.

Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.   – Psalm 102:13

Reflections

  • Get some quiet time with God and pour your heart out to Him.

  • Think about 3 situations in your life that looked really bad, but God stepped in and turned them around for you.

  • Express your appreciation for Him.

  • Complete this sentence: Lord, I know that You love me and You won’t forsake me because ________________
