The Ways Of Integrity

The Ways Of Integrity

“I will walk the ways of integrity. When will you come to me? I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace.” Psalm 101:2 Net Bible

The Bible says that we were made in the image of God. That is a monumental truth and gift that we are honored to have. In fact, mere words cannot even describe the entire essence of what that entails. However, what we do know is that those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior should show His characteristics because He is a part of us.

The word of God boldly declares that “God is love,” (1Jn 4:8) then we should unreservedly love others. We must show love in everything that we do even with those people that challenge our love and try to make us upset, or angry. Real love does not repay evil for evil.

Integrity is also one of those characteristics that the Lord wants and encourages His children to naturally display. Some words that mean the same as integrity are honesty, virtue, honor, not swaying, righteous, and upright.

When you are a person of integrity people can easily detect it and they will respect you as a person who stands for righteousness. They’ll know not to ask you to do anything dishonest because of your Christian stance. If someone should ask you to participate in doing something contrary to the will of your Heavenly Father, let integrity and love partner together and boldly decline their offer.

We must resolve within ourselves that we are going to be people of integrity at all times, whether we’re alone or interacting with others.

Reflections

  • Examine yourself and determine if you are consistently walking in integrity? If you see where there is room for improvement repent and ask the Lord to help you get it right. He will honor your sincerity (1Jn 1:9)

  • Would you compromise your integrity if it was going to be an advantage for you?

  • Why do you think the Lord holds integrity of great importance?

It’s All About Love

It’s All About Love

The lyrics to an old familiar song written by Peter Scholtes rang loudly in my spirit one day. “And they’ll know we are Christians by our love by our love, and they will know we are Christians by our love.” These simple yet powerful words remind believers that we should be known for the love that we show.  Christianity was built on love. If it hadn’t been for our Heavenly Father’s matchless love sending His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins none of us would have a right to eternal life.  In fact, we can truly say that “It’s all about love.”

We must be a reflection of God’s love everywhere that we go. This even includes how we treat our own spouses, children, and other people who are close to us.  Often people will put on their “good Christian face” in public and act terribly at home.  God is not pleased with that type of behavior.  Our actions and the words that we say should be immersed in the love of God otherwise, we become as “sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal” as the scripture says in 1Cor 13:1.

Let’s always honor the greatest love that will ever exist, the love of our Heavenly Father. Because He is love (1 John 4:8). He has love for everyone in the entire world.  Let’s embrace His love daily and spread it everywhere that we go.

Reflections

  • Have you checked your love walk lately?

  • What kind of deed will you do for someone today?

  • How can you show God’s love to those who aren’t aware of who He is and how much He loves them?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

To God be the glory for blessing us to see a brand new year.  I pray that 2018 will be one of the greatest years that you have ever experienced.  May it be filled with joy, love, excitement, peace, prosperity, and most of all spending more intimate time with the Lord.

Should you decide to focus on making changes this year, determine what those changes will be and take time each day towards completing those things.  Near the end of the year, we often hear the familiar phrase “finish strong!”  Why wait until the end of the year?  Make an attempt to set daily goals that are within reach that causes you to “finish strong” for that day.  If this is consistently done, you will begin to see tangible evidence of accomplished goals before you get to the end of the year.

You may want to create a list of things you want to accomplish.  It’s always a great feeling to finish something and be able to check it off as completed.  Perhaps listing the easiest thing first will work best for you, that way you will be able to quickly move on to the next thing.

On the other hand, you may want to list the most challenging things first or the things that you’ve been putting off so that you can go ahead and get it out of the way.  At any rate, determine what works best for you and work at it consistently.  Keep your list in a place where you can look at it daily so that it will be fresh in your mind.

Most of all, remember that the Lord is with you and wants you to succeed in achieving your goals.  He will help you.  Be sure to keep Proverbs 16:3 in your heart as you are working on completing the things on your list, Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.”

Reflections

  • What do you want to achieve today, this month, and this year?

  • Working on your goals at least 10-20 minutes per/day is better than not working on them at all. Will you make a commitment to work on your goals daily

  • What is your personal action plan for working on your goals?
