One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is found in Isaiah 49:15. It states “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” If we believe God’s word then we know for a fact that it is impossible for Him to ever forget us. Depending on various circumstances in our lives it may feel like He’s forgotten us at times, especially if the situation seems unbearable or you need an answer right away and it seems to be taking forever for the solution to arrive. It is of the utmost importance that we hold on to that truth, God has not forgotten about us.

It is vitally important that during the most difficult times that we cling to God tighter than ever. One reason that we do this is because it reaffirms our trust in the Lord and it reminds us that He is sovereign, He cares about us, and everything will work out in His timing.

The enemy of our soul, the devil, will not be able to enter in and plague our thought life when our focus is on God. You see the enemy loves to come in when you’re at your lowest, feeling weak, and vulnerable. So don’t give him any room because he will try to take over, steal your peace, and cause you to turn your back on the Lord. Refuse to allow this to happen by rejecting the very first thought that is contrary to the word of God then replace that thought with a life changing verse from the Bible.

Remember, the love of our Heavenly Father caused Him to give His very best for us when He gave His only begotten son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. With this kind of love how could He ever forget about you and me?

Reflections

1.  Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve felt like God had forgotten about you? If so, how did you get through it?

2.  When you’ve been waiting a long time for your prayers to be answered what are some ways that you can think of to remind yourself that God has not forgotten about you?

3.  What advice would you give to someone who may feel like God has forgottenabout them?
