Aren’t you glad that the Lord is omniscient?  There is absolutely nothing that gets by Him.  He is aware of everything that’s going on in the entire universe.  There are more than seven billion people in the world and He knows precisely what’s going on in each of our lives.  He knows us so well that it is never a problem for Him to discern what’s on our hearts whether it is joyful or difficult.  There is no room for us to ever think that the Lord doesn’t understand what we’re going through. He is indeed the interpreter of our tears whether they are silent tears or visible, tears of gratefulness or sadness, the Lord know the origin.

If the Lord is concerned about the sparrow surely He is moved with compassion when He sees or hears the cry of His children.  Sometimes things can hit us so hard until we can’t even figure out the meaning of all of our tears.  There are also times where you just can’t put your pain into words and there is an absence of tears but, there is a silent cry deep within.

I am so grateful that our Heavenly Father can feel our pain.  He not only knows what each and every one of our tears means but, He also knows how to get to the root of the problem and bring healing and deliverance.  I disagree with the statement that I’ve often heard that God is not moved by our tears.  If that was accurate then there would be no truth to the following scripture:

You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book.  Psalm 56:8 The Message Bible

God never wants us to wallow in self-pity for that is surely a trick of the enemy to steal our peace, joy, and to inflict more pain on us.  It is imperative that when we find ourselves in a saddened tearful state that we run to God, the author and finisher of our faith.  He is very capable of giving us joy in the place of pain, peace in the place of sorrow, and of course beauty in the place of ashes.

Reflections

1.  Have you ever felt the peace of God visit you in the midst of your tearful moments?
2.  If you answered yes to #1 describe what it felt like.
3.  If you are currently dealing with a painful situation ask the Lord to visit you with His peace.
