God Provides Strength In Weakness

God Provides Strength In Weakness

Have you ever experienced weakness in your life?  Weakness can come in many forms.  It can show up as sickness in the body, or when you feel you can’t control your emotions after a bad breakup.  You can even suffer from spiritual weakness when you’ve gone through a hard battle and need to be replenished in your faith, prayer life, and knowledge.  But, there is good news.  God provides strength in weakness.

There is hope and assurance in God’s word that weakness need not be a permanent place.  A perfect illustration of this is found in Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.”  Just think about some of the weakest times in your life.  You may have experienced great trials causing you to feel as if the wind has gotten knocked out of you.  And you didn’t feel strength to carry on until God touched you with immeasurable love and compassion.

There is great comfort in knowing that there’s a place made for the children of God to go and obtain everything they need.  It’s a place where you can go and lay all your burdens down.  The Lord says that you are safe in this place.  The bible refers to the name of the Lord being a strong tower.  Can you picture an enormous, unbreakable tower filled with God’s love, strength, peace, and perfect answers, with Him beckoning you to enter?  There’s no wonder why the scripture says, “the righteous run into it and they are safe.”  Who wouldn’t want to go to a place like that?

If you are experiencing weakness in any area I encourage you to apply Proverbs 18:10 to your life.  Some of the ways to get to that safe place in God is through prayer, fasting, singing, crying out to Him, journaling your thoughts to Him, and asking others to intercede for you.  He is the exact place of refuge for a weary heart.  God bless you.

Wisdom’s Winning Voice

Wisdom’s Winning Voice

If you ever want to learn about the value of wisdom just begin reading the book of Proverbs and you will soon discover how valuable it is.  It is something that we simply cannot do without.   I call it, “wisdom’s winning voice” because obeying words of wisdom will always lead to success.

For instance, following wisdom will protect you from harm.  It will open doors for you.  It will keep you away from the wrong people, and stop you from getting involved in wrong situations.  Wisdom will also promote you, and cause others to seek specific help from you.

Ignoring the voice of wisdom is foolish because it comes from God and He knows all things.  We will never know a better way than how He leads us.  His word even instructs us to ask Him for wisdom if it is lacking in our lives.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you James 1:5 NIV

It’s vitally important to remember that there is always a cost to pay when the choice is made not to listen to words of wisdom.   This is especially true when you are aware that the Lord is showing you a better way of doing something and the unwise choice is made to ignore Him.  It is disrespectful and turns into rebellion.

Make this a time that you consciously commit to allowing wisdom to be active in your life like never before.  As you do, you can expect advancement to occur.  Obeying the voice of wisdom will always cause you to win.

Special Prayer For Those Who Are Grieving

Special Prayer For Those Who Are Grieving

Dear Lord,

Thank You for always being there for me.  Thank You for knowing the secrets of my heart.  When everyone around me is celebrating, You understand and feel the pain that is speaking so loudly in my heart.

I realize that life goes on, but mine seems to always take an extended pause when I think about my loved one who has left this earth. Please heal my broken heart.  Please remind my heart that it will get better and heal if I stay close to You.

Help me to make the right choices and run to You when I’m feeling sad, lonely, confused, or even angry.  Help me to remember that You will always be there for me.

Your love, understanding, and compassion will never turn me away.  Thank You so much Lord for being the safest place for me.  I can always run to You for shelter.

I ask that You bring people in my life who are supportive and encouraging.  Please weed out those who are judgmental and lack empathy.

Father I believe Your word. I know that You will never leave me nor forsake me.  I thank You for being my comfort and my peace.  Thank You for being my strong tower.  Thank You for interpreting all my tears.  Thank You for always covering me with Your magnificent unfailing love.

In the Precious Name of Jesus I Pray,

Amen

I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. ~Psalm 116:1-2

For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. ~Psalm 22:24

…to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. ~ Isaiah 61:2b-3

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. ~ Matthew 11:28

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8
